Wheels of Dawn (Akatsuki no Kuruma)
You so-ho-HO have to listen to (and read: english subtitles) this one.
It is a Japanese song sung by Yuuka Nanri.
And, someone please translate this for me-
‘Lordy, them as is on the rattling lay don’t take to slumming kens!’
I believe it belongs to some Heyer book. Found it scribbled behind my eco notebook. I must have pondered upon the rather obscure remark myself sometime. Clearly, I failed. Maybe it's in code...
Well, your guess is as good as mine.

I think it means,
ReplyDelete"Lord, those who are well off in life don't take to slumming"
Wo! Stap me if I knew what the darn cur meant!
ReplyDeleteHow did you do that?!
Big fan!!! *kowtow*
Ooh! Ooh! Didja' hear the jap-song? Eh? Didja'? Didja'?
ReplyDeleteI've been reading James Herriot all my life and all the people innit talk like this. Or somewhere near to it.
ReplyDeleteI did I did I did. And I laughed, thereby confirming the whole 'my daughter is nuts' business in the household!
